False Teachers - A Sign of the Times

We can all agree that the World is more crazy today then it  has ever been before. All the things that we are seeing are no doubt "the signs of the times". But One thing we can never know for sure, is the day or the hour of Christ's return. The Antichrist, the mark of the beast, and coming of Jesus Christ have been wrongly predicted numerous times in the last 100 years. Jesus warned us about false teaching in the last days, and this is a perfect example.
A group in North Carolina plans for 50 billboards to hit metro Atlanta this week,  and campaigns in other cities in December. This 'teacher' tells people to leave their churches ahead of the end date.  He  says that he arrived at the May 21, 2011, by using a mathematical calculation showing that day to be exactly 7,000 years since Noah's flood. Even then, the exact day of Noah's flood would be impossible to determine..

They justify these teachings with: 1Thessalonians 5:4, where it states "but ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief". This passage just indicates to be ready, living, and watching for Christ, so you are not living in sin when He arrives. When May 21, 2011 rolls around and Christ doesn't show, it will lead thousands to not trust Christians!

On the billboard is quoted " a wise man's discerneth both time and judgment."
This is great passage in reference to this circumstance, although not to the reference they're using but to discern these type of predictions as unbiblical..
Matthew 24:36 36 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
