Statistics today show that more people in the World believe in GOD than not. This can be a great thing as long as these people know what GOD intends for them to believe. There was a time when the life and crucifixion of Jesus Christ was questioned as fact or fiction. Today we are now at a point where absolutely no New Testament scholars (atheists included) deny the life and crucifixion of Jesus.
We're going to show you some non biblical sources that not only prove Jesus lived and was crucified, but also point to him as being Divine!!
Titus Flavius Josephus - Roman Historian of the first Century
(credited for recording some of the earliest history of Jesus Christ, in his Antiques of the Jews makes these statements:)
About this time came Jesus, a wise man, if indeed it is appropriate to call him a man. For he was a performer of paradoxical feats, a teacher of people who accept the unusual with pleasure, and he won over many of the Jews and also many Greeks. He was the Christ. When Pilate, upon the accusation of the first men amongst us, condemned him to be crucified, those who had formerly loved him did not cease to follow him, for he appeared to them on the third day, living again, as the divine prophets foretold, along with a myriad of other marvellous things concerning him. And the tribe of the Christians, so named after him, has not disappeared to this day
Pontius Pilate - 5th Prefect of Roman Judaea
(best know for being the judge in Jesus' crucifixion trial)
Pilate's biographical details are unclear and some Biblical scholars believed that he was a mythical character. Then in 1961 an inscription with his name was found confirming the historicity of Pontius Pilate, and adding to the credence of the Biblical accounts.
The Jewish Talmud
(what the modern Hebrew Jew believes today)
On the eve of the Passover Yeshu (The Munich manuscript adds the Nasarean) was hanged. For forty days before the execution took place, a herald went forth and cried, 'He is going forth to be stoned because he has practised sorcery and enticed Israel to apostasy. Anyone who can say anything in his favour, let him come forward and plead on his behalf.' But since nothing was brought forward in his favour he was hanged on the eve of the Passover.... Do you suppose that he was one for whom a defence could be made? Was he not a Mesith (enticer), concerning whom Scripture says, Neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him (Deut. 13:9)? With Yeshu however it was different, for he was connected with the government (or royalty, i.e., influential). Our Rabbis taught: Yeshu had five disciples, Matthai, Nakai, Nezer, Buni, and Todah.
Wikepia - Historical Jesus
(on the account of Jesus' empty tomb found)
The two oldest manuscripts (4th century) of Mark break off at 16:8 stating that the women came and found an empty tomb "and they said nothing to anyone because they were afraid". (Mk 16:8) The passages stating that he had been seen by Mary Magdelene and the eleven disciples (Mk 16:9-20) were added only later, and a hypothetical original ending may have been lost. Scholars have put forth a number of theories concerning the resurrection appearances of Jesus. The Jesus Seminar concluded: "In the view of the Seminar, he did not rise bodily from the dead; the resurrection is based instead on visionary experiences of Peter, Paul, and Mary." E.P. Sanders argues for the difficulty of accusing the early witnesses of any deliberate fraud:
It is difficult to accuse these sources, or the first believers, of deliberate fraud. A plot to foster belief in the Resurrection would probably have resulted in a more consistent story. Instead, there seems to have been a competition: 'I saw him,' 'so did I,' 'the women saw him first,' 'no, I did; they didn't see him at all,' and so on. Moreover, some of the witnesses of the Resurrection would give their lives for their belief. This also makes fraud unlikely.
All of these documents are written by non Christian bias people, and have proven that Jesus walked our earth. But what else did they say about him?
- He did paradoxical feats?
- He was crucified by a historical judge, confirmed by his headstone.
- He was condemned for practicing sorcery? If the Jews say he practiced sorcery is it not clear that he turned water into wine? or fed the 5000 stated in clearly Matthew 14:13-21
- Did he entice Israel to apostasy or the share with them GOD's new covenant as clearly for told by the prophets?
- Josephus actually calls him the Christ .
- Wikipedia claims that his resurrection appearances were visionary and not in the flesh? So what then, the first century disciples saw him but didn't really see him? So were they all hallucinating ? Of course they can't say this was fact but they claim twice that fraud is highly unlikely.........
Out of pure love for you that are Atheist's we ask you to please ask Jesus to come into your life and prove to you his existence through his power and grace! for Jesus says in Luke 11:9 "So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
And for those of you Monotheist out there who believe in a different Jesus, please look at the facts of who Jesus is. You cannot accept him as just a teacher or great Prophet because that's not who he very clearly claimed to be. For Paul says in 2 Corinthians 11:4 For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough.
With that statement in mind Jesus makes salvation absolutely clear in his answer of truth :
" I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me".
